Can a small-town business get big views on TikTok?
The short answer
Yes. Kramer Autoplex, a car dealership in Livingston, TX, has more than 26 million TikTok views and 49 TikToks past 100,000 views, based on public counts on its account in September 2026 (our Kramer Autoplex work). TikTok says follower count isn't a direct factor in what it recommends (TikTok), so a small town doesn't cap your reach.
Why "nobody here is on TikTok" is the wrong worry
You might think a town the size of Livingston can't produce big numbers. But TikTok doesn't only show your videos to people nearby or to your followers. TikTok says that while accounts with more followers are likely to get more views because they've built a larger base, neither follower count nor past high-performing videos are direct factors in its recommendation system. Each video gets judged on how people respond to it.
That's a platform statement about how the For You feed works, not a promise. Most videos won't take off. But the ceiling isn't set by your zip code.
What we've seen with Kramer Autoplex
We've produced short-form for Kramer Autoplex, right here in Livingston. The public counts tell an honest story: a few videos carry a big share of the views.
- Our top TikTok has 1.2M views. It's a personality-driven skit with Kramer's recurring on-camera star, not a sales pitch.
- A classic Camaro SS reveal reached 529K views. That's inventory filmed as entertainment, built for the feed.
- 49 TikToks passed 100K views. Big reach came from many videos, not one lucky post.
In our experience, the videos that traveled had a person viewers recognize and a moment worth watching. Not every client gets dealership numbers. Our lakeside restaurant videos for JR's on the Lake sit in the thousands of views, and that's normal for a single local business. Big reach is possible, not guaranteed.
How to give your business a real shot
- Hook fast. Our guide to hooking viewers in the first 2 seconds covers the opening.
- Use audio you're allowed to use. See whether a business can use trending sounds on TikTok.
- Keep it the right length. Here's how long a TikTok should be for a business.
- Post consistently. One video is a lottery ticket. A steady schedule is a plan.
